Up to $23-36/hour | Athens, AL | Full-Time Hours | 2026-2027 School Year | Full-time contract position where you will provide therapeutic support to students in a school setting to help them reach their maximum performance potential and educational success.

About the Role
Hello, Occupational Therapist Assistants! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist Assistant for a caseload within Limestone County Schools District. In this role, you'll play a critical part in student success by implementing occupational therapy programs, supporting student independence and classroom participation, collaborating with educators and IEP teams, and helping students build the functional skills needed to succeed in the school environment.

What You'll Do
  • Implement occupational therapy programs prescribed by the supervising OT.
  • Support student independence and participation in school activities and academics.
  • Utilize effective intervention strategies and task analysis techniques.
  • Recommend adaptive equipment, positioning, and assistive technology supports.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and IEP teams to support student success.
  • Assist classroom staff through consultation and team collaboration.
  • Monitor and collect data on student goals and progress.

  • Maintain compliance with IDEIA, FERPA, and school-based therapy regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with school staff, therapists, and families regarding student needs and services.
What We're Looking For
  • Graduate from an ACOTE Accredited School and pass the National Certification Exam (NBCOT) Exam.
  • Valid Alabama Licensure as a COTA from the Alabama State Board of Occupational Therapy.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • School-based experience preferred, not required
