General Description/Position Purpose

This is a .25 FTE 12-month.
  • To assist management/hour load of strength/conditioning program.
  • Report to the head strength and conditioning coach for specific assignments designated by the head coach.
  • Adhere to all rules and regulations mandated by Shippensburg University, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
  • Maintain required NCAA certification.
  • Assist with coordinating, implementing, planning, and managing in-season and out-of-season player development and strength and conditioning including both team and individual programming.
  • Attend team strength and conditioning sessions.
  • Assist in coordinating and monitoring usage of Raider Athletics Performance Center.
  • Assist with overseeing maintenance and cleanliness of Raider Athletics Performance Center including equipment.
  • Annually, successfully complete First Aid and Safety and CPR certifications.
  • Cooperate with athletic trainers to ensure student-athletes receive proper medical and physical training services.
  • Ensure appropriate safety precautions are implemented and followed.
  • Assist sports information staff with publicity efforts.
  • Attend appropriate athletics department staff meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:Qualified candidates will have experience as well as demonstrated skills in developing and motivating student-athletes for athletic, academic and personal success. Applicants must possess effective communication and computer skills and a demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population. Successful performance in an on-campus interview is required.
