Job description

Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach

Under the supervision of the head strength and conditioning coach, the assistant strength and conditioning coach will train student-athletes of their assigned sports team. To enhance the physical and mental development of SCAD student-athletes, you will instruct proper exercise technique and implement progressive programming, with a focus on increasing and developing full-body strength, power, and endurance.

In this role, you will also collaborate with the athletic training staff to monitor rehabilitation programs and post-rehabilitation for student-athletes. Additional responsibilities include assisting with various departmental duties, including maintenance and upkeep of training facilities. The successful candidate possesses strong interpersonal, motivational, and organizational skills.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • At least one year of experience in college strength and conditioning

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • CSCCa-SCCC or NSCA-CSCS
  • CPR/AED

Travel required: Less than 10%

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
