AssistantΒ Director of NursingΒ 

Job Summary:Β 

We areΒ seekingΒ a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in leading and managing the nursing department within our skilled nursing facility. The ADON plays a key role in ensuring high-quality clinical care, regulatory compliance, and staff development while fostering a collaborative and resident-centered environment.Β Β 

Key responsibilities:Β 

  • Assist the Director of Nursing in the overall management of nursing servicesΒ 

  • Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and support to nursing staffΒ 

  • Oversee day-to-day clinical operations, including staffing and workflowΒ 

  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiativesΒ 

  • Monitor clinical outcomes such as wounds, falls, infections, and rehospitalizationsΒ 

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including CMS standardsΒ 

  • Support staff education, training, and competency validationΒ 

  • AssistΒ with scheduling, staffing, and performance evaluationsΒ 

  • Serve as a clinical resource andΒ assistΒ with complex resident care needsΒ 

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promoteΒ optimalΒ resident outcomesΒ 

  • EnsureΒ accurateΒ andΒ timelyΒ documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)Β 

Minimum qualifications:Β 

  • Current RN licenseΒ in the state of employment.Β 

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.Β 

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of nursing experience in skilled nursing or long-term careΒ 

  • Prior leadership or charge nurse experience preferredΒ 

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and clinical best practicesΒ 

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skillsΒ 

  • Ability to lead, coach, and motivate nursing staffΒ 

  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).Β 

Physical/other requirements:Β 

  • Ability to lift/move residents and stand for extended periods.Β 

  • Pass background check, drug screen, and TB/health screening per facility policy.Β
