Data Reporter / Data Analyst – School Infrastructure Program

Position Summary

The Data Reporter / Data Analyst will support the Puerto Rico Department of Education (PRDE) School Infrastructure Program by collecting, analyzing, validating, and reporting data related to school construction, repair, and modernization projects. This role is responsible for ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and timely reporting to support program management, funding compliance, and decision‐making. The analyst will work closely with project managers, engineers, and administrative staff to translate project data into actionable insights and standardized reports.

Key Responsibilities

Data Collection & Management

  • Collect, consolidate, and maintain data from multiple sources, including project teams, contractors, and PRDE systems.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and completeness across all program datasets.
  • Maintain structured databases, spreadsheets, and reporting tools for program-wide use.

Reporting & Dashboards

  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports on project status, schedules, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Develop dashboards and visualizations (e.g., Excel, Power BI, or similar tools) to communicate program progress and risks.
  • Generate reports for internal leadership, PRDE stakeholders, and funding agencies.

Data Analysis & Insights

  • Analyze project performance data to identify trends, risks, delays, and cost variances.
  • Support program leadership with insights for planning, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Assist in developing KPIs and performance metrics for infrastructure projects.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Support reporting requirements for public-sector and federally funded programs (e.g., FEMA, CDBG‐DR, or similar, if applicable).
  • Ensure all data and reports meet PRDE standards, audit requirements, and documentation guidelines.
  • Maintain audit-ready records and support data requests from oversight entities.

Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and administrative staff to gather updates and validate data.
  • Serve as a point of contact for data inquiries and reporting requests.
  • Provide guidance to team members on data entry standards and reporting processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or program support.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis tools).
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data validation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting construction, infrastructure, or capital improvement programs.
  • Familiarity with public-sector reporting environments or Puerto Rico government agencies (PRDE preferred).
  • Experience with federally funded program reporting (e.g., FEMA, CDBG‐DR).
  • Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar systems).
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (written and verbal).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret and synthesize large datasets into clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • High level of organization and ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Working Conditions

  • Office-based or hybrid work environment with coordination across multiple PRDE offices and project sites.
  • Occasional travel may be required for site visits or stakeholder meetings.
  • May require flexibility to meet reporting deadlines tied to program milestones or funding requirements.
