Job Summary/Basic Function
Central State University athletics is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach to assist with meeting the goals of guiding and leading an elite-level Women's Basketball program with effective management; as well as to promote academic achievement and character of the student athlete, fans, and within the University community.
Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to on the court coaching in practices and games; recruiting; scouting; summer camps, coordination of travel arrangements, travel expense reports, and any other duties deemed appropriate by the Head Coach. A thorough knowledge of Central State University and the NCAA Division II are imperative. Furthermore, the successful candidate must have knowledge of the game of basketball and the skills necessary to communicate and teach this information to the student-athletes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist the Head Women's Basketball Coach with the organization and supervision for all aspects of the Women's Basketball program.
  • NCAA Division II Rules Compliance.
  • Coordinates individual player development workouts and strength training.
  • Must possess high integrity, a commitment to excellence, loyalty and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of people.
  • Assist with the recruitment of academically qualified student-athletes who can compete at the NCAA II level.
  • Team travel including weekends.
  • Pre and post-season conditioning.
  • Must have the ability to lead the program

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES:
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include: Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be able to use Banner
  • Ability to work independently within a team environment

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Must have prior women's basketball coaching experience.
