This position serves as an assistant to the Head Volleyball Coach.
Essential Functions:
On-court coaching and practice planning in conjunction with coaching staff.
Student-athlete recruitment including visit day representation, on-campus visit planning, off-campus recruitment, correspondence with recruits and families, updating of the recruit database.
Work with current student-athletes on academic progress and provide support and resources as needed.
Maintain current strength and conditioning program while working to remain current with new technique and strategies.
Establish recruiting goals and develop strategies to meet those goals.
Other duties as assigned.
This position complements the knowledge and skills that students will learn in the Leadership, MBA, and Human Resource Management programs. It provides experience in recruitment, retention, budget management, fundraising and exposure to a community that supports diversity, equity and inclusion. Required:
Accepted into a graduate program at North Central College.
Volleyball playing or coaching experience, or athletic administrative experience.
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification, or eligibility to become current.
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Able and willing to travel as needed, including nights and weekends.
Preferred:
Experience in college athletics strongly preferred.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record strongly preferred.
