Assistant Baseball Coach

Abilene High School is seeking an assistant baseball coach this upcoming spring season (Spring 2026).

Our baseball program is committed to developing student-athletes and building a competitive, championship culture centered on commitment, effort, and teamwork. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about teaching the game, building relationships, and helping student-athletes reach their full potential. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to join a dedicated staff and help continue the growth of Abilene Baseball.

Duties of the position include (but are not limited to):

  • Teaching and modeling the Abilene Athletics & Activities core values of Commitment, Effort, and Teamwork.
  • Coaching in a transformative manner that builds strong relationships and helps student-athletes grow not only as baseball players but also as people.
  • Teaching baseball fundamentals, position-specific skills, team concepts, and game strategies essential for individual and team success.
  • Assisting in preparing and implementing efficient, focused practice plans that emphasize skill development, baseball IQ, and game preparation.
  • Working collaboratively with the head coach and coaching staff to develop athletes while supporting a vertically aligned baseball program.
  • Providing positive leadership, organization, and support while helping foster a culture of excellence throughout the program.
  • Following all policies and guidelines set forth by KSHSAA, USD 435, and Abilene High School.
