Job description

Assistant Baseball Coach

The Athletics Department at Auburn University at Montgomery is accepting applications for an Assistant Baseball Coach.

Review of applications will begin immediately with a best consideration date of ten days (May 30, 2026) from initial posting. For full consideration upload a cover letter, resume, and a list of at least three professional references.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support in the oversight of a successful NCAA DII baseball program.
  • Coach assigned players or positions in the skills necessary to excel.
  • Assist with the recruitment and development of student-athletes who will successfully represent the institution academically, athletically and socially.
  • Assist with field maintenance of baseball facility.
  • Ensuring compliance with departmental, institutional, Gulf South Conference, and NCAA DII rules.
  • Commitment to a positive student-athlete experience.
  • Monitor student-athlete's academic progress to ensure eligibility and student success.
  • Assist in supervision of strength & conditioning programs, in partnership with the Strength & Conditioning staff
  • Assist with management of all program budgets, travel, scheduling and purchasing, in line with the guidelines provided by the athletic department and the Office of Financial Services.
  • Monitor the safety of conditions of the facility or area in which the assigned sport is conducted.
  • Assist with fundraising and community outreach events.
  • Additional responsibilities to be assigned by the Head Baseball Coach or Director of Athletics.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

As a part of the job responsibilities associated with this position, knowledge of rules and regulations set force by the NCAA Division II and the conference should be maintained, reviewed and practiced to ensure compliance relative to those applicable rules. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year institution. Three years of experience coaching college baseball. Valid driver's license. Continued employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining CPR/AED and First Aid certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree. Previous baseball coaching experience at the NCAA DII level.
