Job description

Job Summary

Gonzalez Asphalt, Inc. is seeking an experienced Grade Operator to operate motor graders for fine grading and earthwork operations on construction and paving projects. The ideal candidate will be skilled in achieving precise grades, working with GPS systems, and coordinating closely with the grading foreman and grade checker.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate motor graders to perform rough and fine grading

  • Achieve precise grades, slopes, and elevations per project plans

  • Work with GPS machine control and/or laser grading systems

  • Coordinate with grade checkers and foremen to ensure accuracy

  • Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance

  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations

  • Maintain clean and safe work areas

Qualifications
  • Proven ability to fine grade to tight tolerances

  • Experience with GPS machine control preferred

  • Ability to read construction plans and grade stakes

  • Strong attention to detail and job-site communication skills

  • Valid driver’s license required
