Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Talent Recruiter to join our Human Resources team. The Talent Recruiter will be responsible for identifying, attracting, interviewing, and helping hire qualified talent across the organization, with a primary focus on construction-related positions. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated recruiting experience within the construction industry and a strong understanding of the unique hiring needs associated with construction operations, including skilled trades, field personnel, project management, estimating, safety, and administrative roles. This position will work closely with the Human Resources Manager and hiring managers to develop effective recruiting strategies, maintain a strong candidate pipeline, and ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full-cycle recruiting process from job requisition through offer and onboarding coordination.
  • Partner with the Human Resources Manager and hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies.
  • Recruit for construction positions, including skilled trades, superintendents, project managers, estimators, foremen, safety professionals, and administrative/support positions.
  • Source qualified candidates through job boards, social media, professional networks, employee referrals, recruiting events, and other channels.
  • Screen resumes and conduct initial phone or video interviews to assess qualifications, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Maintain accurate and timely candidate records within the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future openings.
  • Develop relationships with candidates and maintain consistent communication throughout the recruitment process.
  • Assist with employment offers, background checks, reference checks, and pre-employment requirements as applicable.
  • Partner with the Human Resources team to support a smooth transition from recruitment to onboarding.
  • Represent the company professionally at career fairs, trade schools, community events, and industry networking events.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with construction schools, trade programs, professional organizations, and other talent sources.
  • Monitor recruiting metrics and provide updates to the Human Resources Manager regarding open positions, candidate pipelines, and hiring activity.
  • Stay informed of construction industry labor-market trends, recruiting challenges, and competitive compensation practices.
  • Ensure recruiting activities are conducted in compliance with applicable employment laws and company policies.
  • Support additional Human Resources initiatives and projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of previous recruiting experience with a general contractor, commercial contractor, industrial contractor, specialty contractor, or construction-related organization.
  • Familiarity with construction industry labor markets and workforce trends.
  • Strong knowledge of construction-related positions, terminology, and workforce requirements.
  • Experience recruiting both field and office-based construction professionals is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to source and attract qualified candidates in a competitive labor market.
  • Excellent interviewing, communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple open positions and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and recruiting platforms.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office or comparable business software.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a Human Resources team.
