Machine Control Specialist - SITECH Pacific
SITECH Pacific is seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Machine Control Specialist - SITECH Pacific to support, implement, and maintain advanced construction technology solutions for the heavy equipment and earthmoving industry. This role is responsible for installing, training, and supporting customers on Trimble Civil Construction solutions, Caterpillar Grade and Technology products, and other technology platforms.
The Sales Engineer partners closely with customers, sales teams, technicians, and business partners to ensure successful product implementation, maximize customer satisfaction, and drive business growth. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to develop lasting customer relationships while promoting SITECH Pacific as the industry leader in construction technology solutions.
Wages
This position will pay salary plus commission, annual compensation ranges from $100,000 to $150,000
Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and support Trimble Civil Construction solutions, Caterpillar Grade and Technology products, and other partner technologies at customer job sites.
  • Deliver hands-on customer training and ongoing field support to ensure successful adoption and utilization of technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with the regional sales team to develop customer relationships and increase sales of products, services, and technology solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and develop strategies to win new business for SITECH Pacific, Quinn Company, and Hawthorne dealerships.
  • Build strong relationships with customer management and field personnel by providing technical expertise, demonstrations, and product support.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and job site evaluations to support major account sales opportunities.
  • Provide technical sales support to customers, field technicians, installation teams, coordinators, and internal departments.
  • Support strategic partnerships and collaborate with key business partners to expand technology solutions.
  • Participate in new product launches, beta testing, and manufacturer training programs to maintain product expertise.
  • Develop and implement technology workflows that improve customer productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with installation teams to deploy on-machine systems, base stations, GPS infrastructure, and integrated technology solutions.
  • Assist field technicians and sales representatives in expanding their technical knowledge and technology capabilities.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and technical issues promptly while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer activities, training sessions, installations, and support provided.
  • Travel to customer locations throughout the assigned territory as required.

Qualifications
  • Experience in earthmoving, paving, road milling, or heavy construction operations.
  • Strong knowledge of construction technology, machine control, or GPS guidance systems.
  • Experience with Trimble, Topcon, Leica, or similar guidance and positioning technologies preferred.
  • Understanding of land surveying principles and construction layout techniques.
  • Familiarity with CAD-based software applications.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to build lasting business relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively train, coach, and mentor customers and team members.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, solution-oriented, and capable of working independently or collaboratively.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and sound decision-making.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Experience with hydraulics, heavy construction equipment, or machine control systems preferred.
  • Experience in construction technology implementation or technical support preferred.
  • Ability to obtain MSHA certification.
  • Must successfully complete all required site-specific safety training and pit driving requirements.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record may be required.
