Position Summary
Dana Safety Supply is seeking a detail-oriented Emergency Vehicle Technician/Installer to join our growing team. This role is responsible for the professional installation, integration, and maintenance of high-tech 12-volt equipment in law enforcement, public safety, and federal vehicles. We provide industry-specific training for candidates with a strong foundational knowledge of automotive or marine electronics.
Primary Responsibilities
Installation & Integration: Professionally install 12v electrical components including light bars, sirens, flashers, in-car video systems, and radio communications.
Technical Assembly: Mount and secure vehicle hardware such as transport partitions, consoles, equipment racks, laptops, and printers.
Networking & Comms: Install and configure antennas, routers, and GPS systems.
Quality Control: Test, troubleshoot, and repair 12v circuits and equipment to ensure 100% functionality and safety compliance.
Required Qualifications
Technical Aptitude: Strong understanding of vehicle wiring and the ability to identify/troubleshoot electrical circuits.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of automotive or marine 12v experience is preferred (but not required for the right candidate).
Physical Dexterity: Ability to work with small objects, distinguish colors for wiring, and maintain high attention to detail. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand for extended periods; walk; sit, stoop, kneel, crouch; reach overhead and below shoulder level; Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hand(s); stoop, maneuver into / out of tight spaces, speak and the ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. repetitively and unassisted.
Professionalism: Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with team members.
Certifications: Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Certification desired but not required
Employment Requirements
• Must possess a valid Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
