Position Description
SUMMARY
Leverage advanced technology to identify and map underground utilities, ensuring
accurate and safe excavation practices. This role demands a strong understanding of utility
systems, excellent technical skills, and the ability to work independently as well as
collaboratively within a team environment.
TYPICAL DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ground Penetrating Radar: Operate GPR systems to detect and map subsurface structures, objects, and anomalies. Analyze GPR data to provide accurate reports and interpretations.
  • Data Interpretation: Review and interpret data from utility locate and GPR systems, creating detailed maps and reports for use in planning and excavation.
  • Field Surveys: Conduct field surveys and inspections to verify utility locations and assess site conditions.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of utility locations, GPR data, and field observations.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and standards to ensure safe working conditions on job sites. Report any potential hazards or safety concerns.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear explanations of findings and recommendations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and calibration of utility locating and GPR equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to support project requirements and objectives.

Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED plus at least three (3) years of utility work.
  • Maintain a valid Driver's License.
  • Strong technical skills in operating GPR and utility locating equipment.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data to produce accurate reports and maps.
  • Meticulous in maintaining detailed records and ensuring high accuracy in documentation.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective client interactions and team collaboration.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently to address challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team to achieve project objectives.
