Le role d'affaires gouvernementales et reglementaires est responsable de la direction et de la mise en uvre des strategies en matiere de relations gouvernementales et de reglementation a travers le Quebec, l'Ouest canadien et la region de l'Atlantique. Il joue un role cle dans l'orientation des politiques publiques, la gestion des relations avec les principaux intervenants gouvernementaux et l'alignement avec les priorites de l'entreprise.

Le poste fournit egalement des orientations strategiques sur les developpements reglementaires, identifie de maniere proactive les risques et les opportunites, et soutient les equipes interfonctionnelles afin d'assurer des operations de marche conformes, efficaces et durables.

.Vos zones de responsabilite sont:

  • Developper et entretenir des relations solides avec les representants gouvernementaux, les decideurs politiques et les organismes de reglementation afin de promouvoir efficacement les interets de l'organisation.
  • Assurer une veille des developpements legislatifs et defendre les politiques publiques qui soutiennent les objectifs de l'organisation. Cela comprend les activites de representation aupres des instances gouvernementales, la preparation de memoires et de documents de positionnement, ainsi que la promotion des interets de l'organisation dans les discussions strategiques sur les politiques publiques.
  • Veiller a ce que l'organisation respecte l'ensemble des exigences reglementaires et des politiques gouvernementales applicables. Cela inclut le suivi des modifications legislatives et reglementaires ainsi que l'alignement des pratiques internes sur ces exigences.
  • Communiquer les positions de l'organisation aupres des parties prenantes gouvernementales de maniere coherente avec ses priorites, ses valeurs et ses objectifs a long terme. Cela comprend la presentation d'analyses, de donnees probantes et de recommandations strategiques.

  • Baccalaureat en science politique ou tout autre domaines pertinents.
  • Experience en affaires gouvernementales, en affaires reglementaires ou en politiques publiques, idealement dans un secteur hautement reglemente.
  • Solide comprehension du paysage reglementaire canadien, incluant une connaissance du Quebec, de l'Ouest et des provinces de l'Atlantique.
  • Capacite a contribuer a l'elaboration des politiques et a gerer des relations avec des parties prenantes de haut niveau au sein des gouvernements.
  • Capacite demontree de reflexion strategique, avec l'aptitude a traduire des enjeux reglementaires complexes en implications et actions claires pour l'entreprise.
  • Excellentes competences en communication et en representation, incluant une experience dans l'elaboration de positions, de memoires et de documents d'information.
  • Solides competences en leadership transversal, avec une experience de coordination entre les equipes juridiques, commerciales et de communication.

The role or Government and Regulatory Affairs is responsible for leading the development and execution of regulatory and government relations strategies across Quebec, Western Canada, and Atlantic Canada. The role focuses on shaping public policy, managing relationships with key government stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with corporate priorities. It also provides strategic guidance on regulatory developments, identifies risks and opportunities, and supports cross-functional teams to enable compliant and effective market operations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing and nurturing relationships with government officials, policymakers, and regulatory bodies to effectively advocate for the organization's interests.
  • Monitoring legislative developments and advocating for policies that align with the organization's objectives. This includes lobbying, preparing policy briefs, and ensuring that the organization's voice is heard in key policy discussions.
  • Ensuring the organization remains compliant with relevant government regulations and policies. This includes staying up to date on changes in legislation and ensuring internal practices align with these changes.
  • Communicating the organization's positions to government stakeholders in a way that reflects its priorities, values, and long-term goals. This includes presenting research, data, and strategic recommendations.
  • Managing any government-related crises or regulatory challenges and ensuring that the organization is prepared to respond effectively.

What are we looking for?

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in political science or any relevant subject.
  • Experience in government relations, regulatory affairs, or public policy, ideally within a highly regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian regulatory landscape, with knowledge of Quebec, Western, and Atlantic provinces.
  • Ability to help shaping policy and manage senior-level stakeholder relationships across government.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, with the ability to translate complex regulatory developments into clear business implications and actions.
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills, including experience developing positions, submissions, and briefing materials.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership capabilities, with experience coordinating legal, commercial, and communications teams.
  • High level of autonomy, sound judgement, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is required.
