Web Designer
PTP is a fast-growing system integrator that offers strategic Customer Experience (CX) solutions to our clients. We are looking for a Web Designer to help us design and deliver CX solutions that provide our clients with a beautiful customer journey that achieves results. We are seeking an experienced Web Designer to join our team of qualified, diverse consultants. This position is remote, but may require travel to Sacramento, California.
The Web Designer will create amazing user experiences, has an eye for clean and artful web design and has superior user interface design skills. The successful candidate will be able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts and transform them into intuitive and functional web page designs.
The Web Designer will lead joint application design (JAD) sessions and provide expertise on Human-Centered Design principles and approaches. The candidate will elicit and confirm requirements, design wireframes, create page mockups and prototypes and validate designs with clients and end users. Excellent communication skills and working as part of an integrated team are critical.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, requirements workshops, joint application design (JAD) sessions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
  • Write functional requirement documents and specifications
  • Create information architectures, wireframes, page mockups and prototypes
  • Create cascading style sheets (CSS) that are consistent across all browsers and platforms
  • Maintain and enforce design standards and branding
  • Promote and enforce usability standards and best practices
  • Refactor and modernize legacy web applications
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with clients to analyze information needs and functional requirements
  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs

Mandatory Qualifications:
  • A BS degree in information systems, software engineering or related field or combination of education and experience is necessary
  • Five or more years of demonstrated success as a web designer
  • Two or more years of experience with responsive and adaptive design
  • Experience with Human-Centered Design Process
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery
  • Experience with screen mockup tools and prototype evaluation with end users and clients
  • Self-starter with leadership skills in order to take charge of or facilitate requirement-gathering sessions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Multi-tasking skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities and manage project scope changes
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Project and Excel

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with large government technology projects
  • Two or more years of demonstrated success as a web designer on Java, JSF 2.1/2.2 with PrimeFaces
