POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Assistant Health & Human Services Director, the Bay Mills Health Center Communications & Event Coordinator will be responsible for posting, creating, and managing the creative process to build a strong consistent communications platform through a wide range of marketing and social media platforms. This position plays a vital role in elevating awareness of Bay Mills Health Center services, programs, and initiatives. The position will be responsible for content creation utilizing photography, editing and creation software, and graphic media. The position will also assist management with planning, coordinating and executing BMHC related events. This may include close coordination with other BMIC positions inside and outside the health center. The Coordinator must ensure that all communications align with government standards, maintain transparency, and foster positive relationships with the community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to increase communication and information distribution throughout service area.
2. Draft, edit, and schedule posts that inform the public about Bay Mills Health Center activities, community resources, public notices, closures, emergency communications, and event announcements. This may include updates on seasonal illnesses like the flu, preventative care tips and wellness strategies, practice updates, introducing new doctors or service expansions, etc.
3. Work closely with the Health Center staff and departments to manage messaging related to community programs.
4. Create engaging, professional content for various social media campaigns, utilizing different media formats including photography, video, fliers, etc. across various social media platforms.
5. Attend community events to take quality and professional photos, and share with the appropriate Departments, Bay Mills News, or social media platforms.
6. Work with other government departments, officials, and partners to promote cross-agency initiatives.
7. Utilize social media analytics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns.
8. Maintain digital and social media marketing content.
9. Monitor all on-line channels for public inquiries and comments, and ensure timely, respectful and professional responses that are policy-compliant.
10. Maintain Health Center calendar of events, updating the health center's website when needed, and coordinating with the BMIC Social Media & Event Coordinator as needed.
11. Provide event management for assigned community events, including planning, coordination, and execution of event plans, including but not limited to community gatherings, cultural events, conferences, and educational workshops. (i.e., Bike Rodeo, Family Fun Carnival, National Health Center Week, Quality Improvement Programming, etc.)
12. Create an annual Bay Mills Health Center report to be distributed amongst Bay Mills Indian Community on an annual basis.
13. Capture and share testimonials and stories related to Health Center services that reflect community strengths, cultural values, and successful health outcomes.
14. Work with Human Resources to create a robust LinkedIn or similar profile to attract professionals, promote resources, and share success outcomes for Bay Mills Health Center.
15. Help manage, update, and maintain an accurate website with information related to the Bay Mills Health Center.
16. Coordinate with the Health Director, Assistant Health Director, and Quality Improvement Manager to use polls and survey to gather patient feedback, execute communications strategies within and outside the Bay Mills Health Center.
17. Serve as the on-site lead to ensure smooth event execution, manage contingencies, and address real-time needs.
18. Responsible for budgets, negotiating with vendors, logistics, reporting, and overall event success.
19. Collaborate on the development of health center newsletters, annual reports, and official publications.
20. Ensure all communications uphold patient confidentiality, organizational standards, and cultural integrity.
21. Other duties may be assigned within the scope and complexity of this position's essential functions.
22. Must attend all mandatory trainings designated through the Human Resources Department and/or Department Director.
