Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Software Developer to support a mission critical Intelligence Community program based in Herndon, VA. This is a full time, onsite position due to specific program requirements. This role supports the development and sustainment of enterprise and mission applications in a high-visibility, fast-paced environment. As a Software Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining software solutions that directly support operational mission needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain software solutions using Java to support business and mission applications.
  • Leverage knowledge of computer hardware, software, and information processing techniques to implement effective system solutions.
  • Work closely with system users and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate operational needs into technical implementations.
  • Analyze system capabilities and limitations to resolve questions related to program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and system controls.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and correct program errors; document software development activities and changes.
  • Ensure established software development standards are defined, implemented, and consistently met.
  • Support integration and sustainment of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Free/Open Source Software (FOSS) solutions.
  • Operate across multiple operating system environments, including Linux and Windows.
  • Adapt to evolving user requirements and support dynamic mission needs.
Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret (TS) or TS/SCI clearance
  • 2 - 10 years of experience with Java application development
  • Experience working with XML
  • Proven experience integrating and supporting COTS/FOSS solutions
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across Linux and Windows environments
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly and support changing operational requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and implement new technologies in a mission environment
Compensation:
  • $115,000 - $230,000 *Multiple Labor Categories available from Junior to Senior level*
