Job description

Position Overview

Vision IT is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Knowledge Management -Software Developer to support the BZ Team at Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB). The ideal candidate will provide software development, knowledge management, and business operations support for IT systems and enterprise collaboration environments supporting mission-critical operations.

This role requires strong analytical skills, experience in software development and automation, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional government and contractor teams in a secure and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain custom software applications and knowledge management solutions.
  • Support BOS-IT initiatives by improving workflows, automation, and data management processes.
  • Develop and maintain SharePoint, web-based, and database-driven applications.
  • Responsible for Space Systems Integration Office (SSC/BZ) end-user support to ensure the successful usability of document management software products and SharePoint enterprise collaboration applications and processes.
  • Provide Knowledge Management support, including permissions management and data structure administration for SSC/BZ EIS applications and processes.
  • Develop and implement Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards, webpages for Web Content Management (WCM), workspace environments, workflows, forms, and reports to support identified process improvements for SSC/BZ EIS customers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and data visualization tools to support operational decision-making.
  • Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and system architecture diagrams.
  • Conduct personnel training on software products, collaboration tools, and newly implemented processes.
  • Support system integration, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization activities.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity, configuration management, and information assurance policies.
  • Participate in Agile development activities, code reviews, and team collaboration sessions.
  • Provide end-user support and technical assistance for knowledge management tools and applications.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in software development, knowledge management, or IT systems support.
  • Experience with one or more programming languages such as:
    • C#
    • JavaScript
    • Python
    • SQL
    • PowerShell
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies including:
    • SharePoint
    • Power Platform
    • Microsoft 365
    • SQL Server
  • Experience developing BI dashboards, workflows, forms, and enterprise collaboration solutions.
  • Strong understanding of database design, web development, and application lifecycle management.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance required.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ (Sec+) Certification required.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting DoD or federal government environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as Azure or AWS.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and RMF compliance.
  • Experience with data analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI.
