Job description

This job has both full-time & part-time positions available


Apogee School for the Gifted is a small, private, accredited school in Indianapolis that serves gifted children in grades K-12 under one roof.

Our school consists of high ability students. The maximum class size at Apogee is 12.


This job specifically is to serve as a co-homeroom teacher to the 7-10th grade classroom and teach two sections of differentiated social studies to the 7-10th and 5-6th grade classes. This teacher would also facilitate student council. Teaching additional electives of personal specialty is encouraged. AP History/Government Certification is a plus.


Teachers who are only available for a part-time position are also encouraged to apply.


We use the Responsive Classroom approach to classroom management. If you don't have experience, we are happy to provide training.


Qualifications:

- Current Indiana teaching license preferred

- High Ability / Gifted endorsement preferred

- History Specialization, AP History/Government Certification is a plus

- Special Education endorsement is a plus


Job requirements:

- Must be able to differentiate lessons for multiple grades and age groups.

- Must be comfortable with creating different behavior plans to further individualize instruction.

- Must have a patient and kind demeanor.

- Must appreciate each student as an individual learner with individual needs.
