Job Opening: Plant Customer Service Representative
Location: Gary, IN 46402
Pay: $18-$20 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Plant Customer Service Representative to manage the customer order process and support daily operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is critical in driving on-time delivery and ensuring a top-tier customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Enter and manage customer orders in the ERP system accurately and on time
  • Communicate with customers via email and phone regarding orders, inquiries, updates, and changes
  • Ensure timely deliveries by coordinating with scheduling, production, and shipping
  • Handle filing, billing, and purchase order coordination with internal departments
  • Follow up on past-due accounts and enter quality complaints when needed
  • Maintain detailed product specifications and manage inventory for key customers
  • Collaborate with sales and service teams to fulfill customer needs
  • Identify and resolve order issues before production
  • Recommend improvements to enhance the customer experience
Qualifications:
Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required
Experience:
  • 2+ years in a customer service role (manufacturing experience preferred)
