Job description

Mancan is currently looking for a Diesel Mechanic for a client in Alva, FL.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities, experience with preventive maintenance programs, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on diesel engines and equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and inspections.
Repair and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, steering systems, and other components.
Use diagnostic tools and computerized equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
Conduct safety inspections and ensure equipment meets regulatory standards.
Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and parts inventories.
Test-drive vehicles and equipment to verify repairs and proper operation.
Follow company safety policies and maintain a clean work environment.
Communicate repair recommendations and equipment status to supervisors and customers.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
Previous experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or related role.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documents.
Experience using diagnostic software and repair tools.
Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required.
ASE Certification or equivalent certifications are a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality repairs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong time-management and organizational skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying environmental conditions.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or fleet maintenance.
Familiarity with DOT regulations and inspection requirements.
Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
