Job Overview
The Engineer Technician 1 supports facility, space and real property surveys; gathers data and updates computer data bases as required by the Air Force to ensure conformance with AF guidance. This a full time, onsite, union role at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
  • Responsible to perform all assigned duties as safely and efficiently as possible to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data collection and updates for engineer, real property and geo spatial data assigned by manager.
  • Conduct Facility, real property surveys, and space related inspections and surveys in adherence to AF standards and manager guidance.
  • Create maps/plans using GIS and CADD tools.
  • Provide other services as assigned by Managers; attend meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Maintain centralized storage of data records.
  • Computer for data base management; survey materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
  • 3 years of hands-on experience with Air Force facilities (maintenance position or similar).
  • Hands on experience using AF NEXGEN data system, or other military or engineering data entry system.
  • High School diploma or equivilent
  • Experience with detailed date entry and computer processing.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, apply and follow policies, guidelines, and instructions both oral and written.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and readily adapt to change.

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to lift 30 pounds.
  • Sitting at desk, data entry for extended time.
  • Able to work in field environment, walking, stooping, standing, bending, lifting, when required.
