Job description

Description:

This isn't a cold territory. You'll inherit an established book of business and the backing of a company with a 45-year reputation — then make it your own.

Huntsville is one of the most dynamic markets in the Southeast — and with its deep Department of Defense and government contractor presence, it's a particularly strong fit for what Culton Companies does. If you know this market and know how to build relationships inside complex organizations, this role was designed for you.

ABOUT CULTON COMPANIES

Culton Companies designs, builds, and installs award-winning custom trade show exhibits, branded interiors, and museum environments for commercial and institutional clients across the country. Operating through three divisions — ExpoDisplays, Method-1, and Warner Museums — we're known for long-term client relationships, consistent execution, and a reputation built on trust and results. Our growth has always been driven by service quality and referrals, not high-pressure sales tactics.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We're looking for a motivated, self-directed Outside Sales Representative to own and grow our client base in the Huntsville, Alabama market. This is a true combination role — you'll take ownership of an existing portfolio of established accounts while actively prospecting and developing new business throughout the territory.

Huntsville's strong Department of Defense and government contractor presence makes it a uniquely compelling market for Culton's capabilities. Experience navigating complex organizations, procurement environments, or DoD relationships is a genuine advantage here. The position is Huntsville-based with occasional travel to our Birmingham headquarters required.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own and grow an existing book of business — these aren't cold leads, they're established relationships to build on
  • Prospect for and develop new client relationships through outreach, referrals, and networking
  • Conduct in-person sales calls and client meetings throughout the Huntsville territory
  • Identify client needs and recommend tailored custom solutions from Culton's full portfolio
  • Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales environments including government contractors and DoD organizations
  • Build long-term relationships grounded in trust, service, and consistent results
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and activity records
  • Collaborate with internal design and production teams in Birmingham to ensure flawless execution

WHAT YOU BRING

Required:

  • Proven track record in outside sales or B2B sales
  • Strong prospecting skills and comfort managing both existing accounts and new business simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with a high degree of ownership and accountability
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through on commitments
  • Valid driver's license and comfort with local travel throughout the Huntsville area

Bonus Points For:

  • Prior military service or direct experience working with Department of Defense organizations
  • Experience selling to or supporting government contractors, especially large or complex accounts
  • Familiarity with navigating procurement processes and multi-stakeholder buying environments
  • Background selling custom, creative, or high-value project-based solutions

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

  • Full-time position based in Huntsville, Alabama
  • Competitive compensation structure — base + commission or commission-focused, depending on experience
  • Clear path for long-term growth with a stable, expanding company
  • Occasional travel to Culton Companies headquarters in Trussville, Alabama

THIS ROLE IS BUILT FOR SOMEONE WHO...

  • Enjoys owning a territory and being fully accountable for results
  • Thrives in a consultative, relationship-based sales environment
  • Is comfortable selling custom, high-value solutions to sophisticated clients
  • Understands how to build trust inside large, complex organizations
  • Takes pride in representing a company with a serious reputation and a product worth believing in

THE PERKS

We take care of the people who represent our brand:

Health, Dental & Vision

401K Retirement Plan

Paid Parental Leave

PTO + 7 Paid Holidays

? AFLAC & Liberty National

FSA Plan

Online Payroll Access

Why Culton?

We hire professionals and treat them like professionals. At Culton, you'll have the autonomy to own your territory, the backing of a respected 45-year brand, and a team in Birmingham that delivers on every promise you make to a client. Our growth has always come from doing exceptional work — which means you'll never have to oversell or underdeliver. That's a rare thing in sales, and we don't take it for granted.

If this sounds like the right move, we'd love to connect. Submit your resume and cover letter and let's talk.
