Data Analyst
Role Summary
We are seeking a Data Analyst to turn data into insights by building dashboards, defining metrics, and conducting analyses on AWS-based datasets. You will work primarily with SQL on Redshift/Athena, Python for analysis and automation, and BI tools to deliver accurate, actionable reporting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Translate business questions into analyses, KPIs, and dashboards.
  • Query and transform data using SQL against RDS, Oracle, Amazon Redshift and Athena.
  • Perform data profiling and validation on S3/Redshift datasets; escalate data quality issues and partner on resolution.
  • Write Python (pandas) for exploratory analysis, feature preparation, and light automation.
  • Optimize queries via appropriate partitioning, filters, and Redshift/Athena best practices.
  • Document logic, assumptions, and lineage in Confluence; manage work in Jira.
  • Create STTM Mapping document by coordinating with upstream/downstream stakeholders
  • Collaborate with data engineers on data requirements, schema changes, and data freshness SLAs.
  • Follow version control practices (Git) for SQL, notebooks, and dashboard assets.
Must-Have Skills
  • Strong SQL (CTEs, window functions, joins, query optimization basics).
  • Python for analysis (pandas, basic visualization) and working with JSON.
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift, Athena, and S3-based datasets.
  • Understanding of dimensional modeling, star schemas, and partitioned data.
  • Requirements gathering, stakeholder communication, and documentation (Confluence/Jira).
Nice-to-Have
  • Basic statistics (A/B testing, confidence intervals), Excel/Sheets power-user skills.
  • Familiarity with Glue Data Catalog concepts, data contracts, and data quality checks.
