At EY, weโ€™re all in to shape your future with confidence.

Weโ€™ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go. Join EY and help to build a better working world.

From strategy to execution, the Government & Public Sector practice of Ernst & Young LLP provides a full range of consulting and audit services to help our Federal, State, Local and Education clients implement new ideas to help achieve their mission outcomes. We deliver real change and measurable results through our diverse, high-performing teams, quality work at the highest professional standards, operational know-how from across our global organization, and creative and bold ideas that drive innovation. We enable our government clients to achieve their mission of protecting the nation and serving the people; increasing public safety; improving healthcare for our military, veterans and citizens; delivering essential public services; and helping those in need. EY is ready to help our government build a better working world.

The Opportunity

In joining our team, you will gain valuable experience and a wealth of knowledge by working across capabilities, service offerings, and agencies. You will help crucial government departments and agencies continuously achieve and sustain performance improvement in a rapidly changing environment. Working in multidisciplinary teams, often directly with leaders of major organizations, you will bring diverse perspectives to every challenge. We are uniquely and strategically positioned to advise government and public sector leaders in the face of increasing disruption, an ever-changing workforce and evolving business landscape. Whether your passion is applying technology solutions to solve the governmentโ€™s toughest challenges, analyzing data for actionable insights or transforming HR organizations, we cultivate innovation and purpose. You will find an environment that is both entrepreneurial and collaborative. We will help you achieve your potential by supporting your professional development and by providing you with leadership opportunities.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a member of the People Consulting team focused on HR and business performance, you will join a talented group of professionals that help support the design and implementation of HR operating models and technology solutions; improve HR process efficiency; manage people risks; automate how HR processes are delivered at scale to help organizations successfully transition to a future state; and advise organizations on a range of challenges that are associated with major transformations. Our key capabilities include the following:

  • HR Transformation
  • Ability to automate HR delivery with leading edge technology
  • HR process efficiency
  • Data analytics

As a Senior Consultant focused on HR and business performance, you will help design and deliver solutions that improve how HR organizations operate, deliver services, and enable the broader workforce. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead or manage defined workstreams within HR transformation, operating model, service delivery, data analytics, process improvement, workforce transformation and HR technology engagements.
  • Develop practical, client-ready deliverables, including current-state assessments, future-state operating models, process maps, implementation roadmaps, business cases, decision materials and executive presentations.
  • Use data, analytics, automation and leading-edge technology concepts to identify improvement opportunities and support more efficient, scalable HR service delivery.
  • Facilitate working sessions, interviews and meetings with clients and EY teams to gather input, build alignment and drive decisions.
  • Identify, escalation and help manage project risks, issues, dependencies and stakeholder considerations during client delivery.
  • Coach and coordinate staff and other junior team members, helping them produce high-quality work and develop consulting skills.
  • Contribute to internal initiatives, proposals, presentations, pursuit materials and thought leadership that advance EY GPS People Consulting capabilities.
Skills and Attributes for Success

Some key capabilities you should be prepared to bring to client facing and internal initiative teams include:

  • Strong working knowledge of consulting delivery methods, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems, synthesize information and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience or strong aptitude in one or more relevant capability areas, such as HR transformation, HR operating and delivery models, HR process efficiency, workforce transformation, AI-enabled solutions, automation, data analytics or HR technology modernization.
  • A practical, business-driven approach to solving complex client challenges using data, stakeholder input and implementation considerations.
  • Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to create concise written products, facilitate discussions and tailor messaging for client leaders.
  • Inclusive teaming and collaboration skills, including the ability to build trusted working relationships with clients, colleagues and cross-functional teams.
  • Interest in business development and eminence, including support for proposals, presentations, market-facing materials and thought leadership.
To qualify for the role, you must have
  • Relevant professional services, consulting or in-house transformation experience, including prior work with a Big Four firm, global management consultancy, niche consultancy or large-scale transformation program.
  • 3 or more years of experience in one or more relevant areas, such as HR transformation, HR technology solutions, HR operating and delivery models, process improvement, policy, workforce transformation, organizational design, strategy or program implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to own meaningful portions of client work, produce high-quality deliverables, engage stakeholders and contribute to project management activities.
  • A bachelorโ€™s degree; a relevant graduate degree or professional certification is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance or higher, as required by client and project needs.
  • Willingness to travel 20 to 30% or more. Due to the nature of our work in Government and Public Sector, work may be required at client, EY and/or contractor sites. Our goal is to assign professionals to projects within a commutable distance of their work location office. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.
Ideally, you will also have
