The Part-Time Cook will be responsible for preparing ingredients, assembling gourmet deli according to recipes, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and supporting smooth daily operations. This role is ideal for someone who loves food, works well under pressure, and takes pride in delivering exceptional quality.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare and cook ingredients for gourmet sandwiches, sides, and specials
Assemble sandwiches with precision, consistency, and attention to presentation
Follow established recipes, portion standards, and food safety guidelines
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station
Assist with inventory rotation, restocking, and prep
Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly
Collaborate with the team to ensure quick, efficient service
Uphold all health department regulations and food handling standards
QualificationsPrevious kitchen or food preparation experience preferred (but willing to train the right candidate)
Strong knife skills and comfort working with fresh ingredients
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Weekend availability is highly preferred
Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Ability to work in a warm kitchen environment
Pay: $17.95/hr.
Location: Washington, DC (Dupont Circle)
Schedule: Part-Time Monday-Friday 6am-11am
