Job Summary

Prepared Food Servers are key players in preparing product, maintaining display cases, using suggestive selling techniques and building customer loyalty for Market District. You are a team player at heart. You know that you are only successful when those around you are set up for success. An interest in food doesn't quite scratch the surface for you; you're passionate about the business, the trends, and what makes customers tick. You have culinary vision beyond a simple “What's for dinner?" and every opportunity to connect with people is an opportunity for you exchange ideas and learn tricks of the trade.

Job Description

Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
Experience Desired: Prior Fresh food experience helpful; Prior experience in restaurant or related field; Working with Bailer, compactor, - only if age appropriate
Education Desired: No High School diploma required
Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
Age Requirement: At least 16 years of age
Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain safety as the top priority for our Team Members, guests and products.
  • Properly handle products and equipment in accordance with food safety and safety guidelines.
  • Provide unparalleled guest service, constantly striving to delight and surprise our guests, vendors and stakeholders.
  • Set up and maintain gourmet display case with fresh items ordered from the central kitchen.
  • Use product and food knowledge to help customers make gourmet food choices.
  • Operate cash register (if applicable).
  • Set up and maintain salad bar/ hot bar or any other gourmet area included in the prepared foods area.
  • Display a commitment to learn about food and share food knowledge with fellow Team Members and guests.
  • Use product and food knowledge to help customers make gourmet food choices.
  • Cultivate a foodie culture by sharing excitement and passion for food.
  • Utilize appropriate suggestive selling techniques.
  • Provide active sampling opportunities, when appropriate.

The hiring range for this position is $17.25– $17.4375 per hour/year. This range represents the anticipated base pay for this role. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and location. Eligible employees may be offered health, vision, and dental insurance, personal/sick paid time, 401(k) retirement savings plan, bonus potential, paid bereavement, vacation and paid holidays.
