As a mission-driven fintech, everything we do revolves around simplifying the home buying process. Through our growing family of companies and products, our team meets customers where they want to do business at every step of the journey. Lower has originated, underwritten, and funded tens of billions of dollars in home loans and offers an industry-leading customer experience with ratings of 4.8 on Trustpilot, 4.9 on Google, 4.9 on Zillow, and A+ from the Better Business Bureau. We innovate through technology, but our people are what sets us apart.

Job Description

Lower is building a lean internal content capability focused on creating premium, authentic, documentary-style content across short-form social, YouTube, and mid-funnel brand storytelling. We’re looking for a Head of Content / Creative Producer to own the strategy, storytelling, and creative direction behind that work. In this role, you'll identify the stories happening across Lower — from CEO and leadership activity to company initiatives, meetings, travel, events, customer stories, employee experiences, and behind-the-scenes moments — and determine how to turn them into content people actually want to watch. You’ll own the content roadmap from idea through final delivery: identifying stories, developing concepts, planning productions, preparing and directing subjects, and overseeing the creative execution of each piece. You’ll work with in-house and freelance cinematographers, videographers, editors, and other creative talent, providing clear creative direction and ensuring the footage, story, edit, graphics, music, color, and final product meet a consistent creative standard. This is not a traditional corporate content or communications role. We’re building a fast-moving, creator-driven content engine that captures what is already happening across the company and turns it into compelling stories with minimal executive lift.

What You’ll DoOwn the Content Strategy & Roadmap

Own the content strategy and production calendar across Reels/short-form, YouTube, and mid-funnel brand content. Develop a strong understanding of what is happening across the CEO, leadership team, and company to continuously identify potential stories. Determine which moments and initiatives are worth capturing and the best format, angle, and audience for each. Develop concepts and recurring content formats that can become recognizable parts of Lower’s content ecosystem. Balance planned productions with the ability to quickly capitalize on spontaneous moments and emerging opportunities.

Lead Story Development & Production

Turn company activity, ideas, and moments into clear creative concepts and compelling narratives. Create production and shooting briefs that give videographers and cinematographers clear direction on the story, moments, interviews, and footage needed. Plan and direct shoots, interviews, day-in-the-life coverage, events, travel, and behind-the-scenes content. Prepare executives, employees, customers, and other participants for interviews and filming so they can be natural and effective on camera. Direct interviews and productions while creating an environment that captures authentic rather than overly staged moments. Work closely with executives while requiring minimal time and preparation from them.

Own Creative Direction & Final Output

Provide editors with clear direction on story structure, pacing, tone, and intended audience. Review cuts and provide decisive creative feedback throughout the editing process. Oversee the complete creative product, including narrative, edit, graphics, music, color, audio, and overall visual style. Maintain a consistent creative standard and recognizable voice across channels and formats. Ensure every piece of content serves a clear purpose while still being interesting enough that people genuinely want to watch. Build repeatable workflows that allow individual shoots and moments to become multiple pieces of high-quality content across formats.

Who You Are

A storyteller first. You instinctively recognize interesting people, moments, and ideas and know how to turn them into compelling narratives. A creative producer. You can take an idea from a rough concept through production and final delivery while keeping the story and creative vision intact. Editorially decisive. You can determine what is worth pursuing, what the angle should be, what needs to be captured, and what should ultimately make the final cut. Production fluent. You understand cinematography and editing well enough to effectively direct talented specialists, even if you are not personally behind the camera or editing every piece. Comfortable directing people. You know how to prepare and interview executives, employees, customers, and other subjects while helping them feel natural on camera. Highly organized. You can manage a content roadmap, production calendar, multiple shoots, edits, and changing priorities without losing momentum. Comfortable around executives. You can work directly with senior leaders, exercise good judgment, and operate effectively in environments where access and trust matter. Creator-minded rather than corporate-minded. You understand what makes modern YouTube, social, documentary, sports, entertainment, or creator-led content engaging. Low ego and highly collaborative. You can set a strong creative vision while giving other creative professionals room to bring their own expertise to the work.

What We’re Looking For

Experience leading creative production, content development, or storytelling for documentary, premium YouTube, sports, entertainment, creator-led media, or modern brand content. Demonstrated experience taking content from concept and story development through production and final delivery. Strong understanding of both long-form and short-form storytelling. Experience directing interviews, shoots, or unscripted productions. Ability to provide clear creative direction to cinematographers, editors, designers, and other creative partners. Experience managing multiple productions or a recurring content calendar. Experience working effectively with both in-house and freelance videographer, cinematographer, and editor talent. Strong judgment around storytelling, pacing, tone, and visual quality. Experience working with executives, talent, creators, athletes, founders, or other high-profile subjects is a plus.

Portfolio Required.

Candidates should provide a portfolio or examples of work demonstrating strong storytelling and creative direction. We’re particularly interested in work involving documentary-style storytelling, premium YouTube, sports or entertainment content, creator-led media, executive/founder content, or modern brand storytelling.

Equal Employment Opportunity

Lower provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws. Privacy Policy

Here at Lower, we believe homeownership is the greatest wealth creator in America today. Our goal is to make homeownership accessible to more people. We also know the path to get there can be daunting; but it doesn’t need to be.
