Your Opportunity

BDO Canada's Google Cloud Advisory Practice is seeking a Senior Consultant, Google Cloud Advisory (Firebase) to help clients design, build, modernize, and scale cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform.

Working alongside architects, managers, and client stakeholders, you will lead the technical design and implementation of Firebase and Google Cloud solutions that support digital transformation, application modernization, mobile and web development, and AI-enabled initiatives. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients while contributing to the successful delivery of complex cloud engagements.

Key Responsibilities

Google Cloud & Firebase Delivery

  • Design, develop, and implement solutions utilizing Firebase and Google Cloud Platform services.

  • Lead technical workstreams across application modernization and cloud-native development projects.

  • Configure and optimize Firebase services including Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Hosting, Analytics, and Cloud Messaging.

  • Implement scalable, secure, and reliable solutions using Google Cloud best practices.

  • Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives for enterprise clients.

Solution Architecture & Advisory

  • Collaborate with clients to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Participate in architecture reviews, design workshops, and technical discovery sessions.

  • Provide recommendations on application architecture, security, scalability, integration, and performance.

  • Assist in developing cloud adoption roadmaps and modernization strategies.

Software Development & Engineering

  • Develop cloud-native applications, APIs, and integrations using modern development frameworks.

  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to support automated deployments.

  • Apply Infrastructure-as-Code principles using Terraform and related tools.

  • Ensure high-quality code through testing, code reviews, and engineering best practices.

Client Engagement

  • Build trusted relationships with client technical and business stakeholders.

  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Support project planning, status reporting, risk identification, and issue resolution.

  • Contribute to client presentations, demonstrations, and solution documentation.

Knowledge Sharing & Innovation

  • Stay current with emerging Google Cloud, Firebase, AI, and development technologies.

  • Contribute to practice development by creating reusable assets, accelerators, and technical best practices.

  • Support mentoring of junior consultants and developers.

  • 5-8 years of experience in software development, cloud consulting, application architecture, or cloud engineering.

  • Experience designing and implementing solutions on Google Cloud Platform.

  • Hands-on experience with Firebase application development and architecture.

  • Experience developing modern web, mobile, or cloud-native applications.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Experience working directly with clients in consulting, professional services, or enterprise technology environments.

  • Proven ability to deliver projects in Agile environments.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Developer Certification.

  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect Certification.

  • Experience implementing enterprise-scale Firebase applications.

  • Experience with Vertex AI, Gemini, or AI-enabled application development.

The expected range of compensation for this role is $84,000 - $128,000 annually.
