Job description

Job Summary:
Google is a leading technology company, and they are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer I to join their Public Sector team. The role involves providing technical guidance and best practices for customers adopting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, ensuring optimal customer experience in migrating and modernizing applications on GCP.
Responsibilities:
• Provide domain expertise on public cloud and enterprise technology.
• Automate end-to-end infrastructure provisioning using IaC tools (Terraform, OpenTofu) and GitOps workflows. Build secure CI/CD pipelines that integrate DevSecOps principles, Kubernetes orchestration, and automated compliance via Policy as Code.
• Architect scalable, resilient cloud solutions and migration strategies that align technical infrastructure with the customer’s long-term mission objectives.
• Scale technical impact by authoring public-facing content, including technical blogs, tutorials, and reusable sample code repositories to establish industry best practices.
• Manage stakeholders within customer environments to deliver consensus and lead positive customer outcomes on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Qualifications:
Required:
• Must be a US Citizen to meet customer and compliance requirements, including potential access to classified information.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience automating infrastructure provisioning, DevOps, continuous integration, or delivery.
• 3 years of experience in system, design troubleshooting, advocating for customers' needs, and triaging technical issues (e.g., hardware, software, application, operational, process).
• Experience coding in one or more general purpose languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C or C++) including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Experience coding in Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, OpenTofu).
• Must possess an active Secret security clearance.
Preferred:
• Experience in delivering solutions that meet public sector security and compliance requirements such as FedRAMP, DoD impact levels, or risk management framework.
• Experience designing cloud enterprise solutions and supporting customer projects to completion.
• Experience with GCP techniques such as prompt engineering, dual encoders, and embedding vectors.
• Experience building prototypes or applications.
• Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as identity and access management, data protection, encryption, certificate and key management.
