Job description

Evening Adult Basic Education Teaching Assistant
Lincoln Community Center

Positions are open for ABE Teaching Assistants in our evening online ESL and GED classrooms.

The following positions available: 
Position #1:  2 evenings per week 4:45 - 7 pm Tuesday/Thursday evenings in our online pre-GED Math class September 15 - November 5, 2026 and again January 5 - February 25, 2027.  This is a grant-funded, temporary position.

Position #2: 3 evenings per week 5:45 - 8 pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings in our online ESL classroom from September 14 - May 27 all school year.  This is a permanent position.

Position #3:  4 evenings per week:  Monday through Thursday 4:45-7 pm in our online GED Classrooms all school year.  This is a permanent position.

Summary of Duties:
Duties include taking attendance, assisting students in accessing the technology (google meet, google sites, google docs), proctoring exams  and assisting in the classroom small group instruction. The teaching assistant will need to feel confident and comfortable with the computer and google suite for this position, and helping students log in via phone calls. 

Qualifications Required: 
High school diploma or equivalent and strong computer skills including knowledge/application of Google Suite.

Qualifications Preferred:  
For the ESL classes, It is helpful to speak the Somali, Spanish, Anuak or Nuer languages, but certainly not required.

Rate of Pay:
$17.51 per hour
