Position Summary

The Social Media Specialist is responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and managing the organization's social media platforms and campaigns. This role plays a critical part in increasing brand awareness, strengthening audience engagement, growing online communities, and supporting broader marketing and business objectives.

Working closely with internal stakeholders and marketing team members, the Social Media Specialist will develop compelling content, oversee social media calendars, measure campaign effectiveness, and help execute integrated digital marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy & Execution

  • Manage, monitor, and maintain the organization's social media presence across platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and emerging channels.
  • Develop and execute social media campaigns that support organizational goals, marketing initiatives, product launches, and key member-focused events.
  • Create, coordinate, and maintain a strategic social media editorial calendar aligned with marketing campaigns and business priorities.
  • Ensure content is engaging, brand-consistent, audience-focused, and optimized for each platform.

Community Management

  • Engage with followers and online communities in a professional and timely manner in accordance with organizational social media policies.
  • Build meaningful relationships with audiences through authentic interactions and responsive communication.
  • Monitor social trends, conversations, and emerging opportunities to strengthen engagement and brand visibility.

Analytics & Performance Reporting

  • Develop, track, analyze, and report on key social media metrics and performance indicators.
  • Provide regular reporting and actionable recommendations to enhance content effectiveness, audience growth, engagement, and campaign performance.
  • Utilize performance data to support annual marketing planning and strategic decision-making.

Digital Marketing Support

  • Partner with the Paid Media Specialist to implement and optimize paid social advertising campaigns.
  • Support the development and execution of digital marketing initiatives, including website content updates, video production, and digital campaign assets.
  • Assist with event sponsorship promotions and related marketing activities as needed.
  • Manage and recommend updates to social media standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with special projects and marketing initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional marketing communications or social media management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing corporate social media accounts in a professional environment.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful social media campaigns and content strategies.
