Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience developing full-stack applications integrated with enterprise IT infrastructures (e.g., enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), or legacy databases) and managing technical projects.
  • Experience with back-end languages (e.g., Python or Java).
  • Experience with front-end languages (e.g., TypeScript or JavaScript).
  • Experience developing applications used within law firms, in-house legal/compliance departments, within government, or related industry experience.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in troubleshooting live, high-traffic applications during critical operations.
  • Experience connecting agent applications to enterprise knowledge bases and enhancing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
  • Experience using AI technologies to augment, improve, or automate the development process.
  • Ability to be flexible/adaptable in exercising judgment in a dynamic environment and to prioritize and manage tasks efficiently.

As a Web Solutions Engineer, you will leverage the full software development life-cycle to help the Business Intelligence Group enable a more data-driven/predictive Global Affairs (GA) organization. By partnering directly with stakeholders, you will distill loosely defined business problems into scalable software solutions. GenAI is poised to make a significant impact in Global Affairs. Whether building long-lived production platforms or prototyping temporary applications, you will navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment to develop web applications that directly drive cross-GA strategic initiatives and enable AI-driven business decisions at scale.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$185,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
  • Design, build, deploy, and improve elegant, scalable, and modern full-stack web applications using standard and Google-specific software development tools which may include ensuring reliable back-ends, implementing responsive and user experience (UX)-rich front-ends, or enhancing the performance of existing tools and services.
  • Architect pipelines and back-ends to serve data via representational state transfer application programming interface (REST APIs).
  • Make technical contributions including writing and reviewing design documents, tests, and code using frameworks like Angular and React while identifying dependencies and resolving issues to drive implementation.
  • Support the development and implementation of data driven web applications, with a focus on responsive front-end interfaces that connect users to Large Language Model APIs, to address business problems, including providing trusted advice to policymakers, building an industry leading regulatory and compliance system, and protecting our ability to provide quality products.
