Maintenance Tech
Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt/Hourly
First Shift: M-F, 7a-3p
Pay begins at $28/hour.
Joy-Mark, Inc. is a manufacturing facility located in Cudahy, WI. We use automated vacuum forming and mixing processes to produce a wide variety of custom made foundry feeding aids and insulating metal handling products.
Responsibilities:
Fabrication amp; Design Standardization
  • Perform repairs, rebuilds, and modifications to production “tools”. A “tool” is a steel forming fixture: a base plate with posts supporting a rolled perforated-sheet cylinder, wrapped with metal mesh/screen, to hold a precise shape in vacuum forming production.
  • Fabricate tool components, requiring cutting, grinding, soldering, welding, fitting, and assembly.
  • Support prototype and new tooling development, and standardize build specifications (materials, mesh/screen, fastening methods, and critical dimensions) across the tooling catalog.
Preventive Maintenance amp; Standardization
  • Maintain preventive maintenance schedules for high-use tools with simple repair checklists (e.g., screen/mesh repairs, alignment checks).
  • Diagnose recurring tooling design failures and implement lasting fixes (e.g., design, material, process, handling changes).
Workflow Prioritization
  • Maintain a live Google Sheets workflow tracker for all tooling requests (request date, priority, status, due date, and completion notes).
  • Coordinate daily with production department to prioritize tooling work and align repair timelines with the production schedule.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Strong fabrication skills: welding, fitting, grinding, soldering, assembling, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to diagnose failure points and make repairs that address root causes, not just symptoms.
  • High organization discipline: can plan work, prioritize, and keep a workflow system updated.
  • Working proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets/Docs/Drive).
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Organized, self-directed, and process oriented.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
