About the job

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

Human Understanding and Experience (HUE) is a Data Science and UX craft collective across Knowledge and Information’s (K&I) product pillars: Ads, Commerce, Search, Geo, and Education. Focused on AI transformation, talent, and community, HUE provides a dedicated platform to amplify best practices and share AI learnings, helping teams scale their success.

We are looking for a Strategic Initiatives Lead (Product Strategy and Operations) to act as an executive-level Independent Contributor (IC). In this role, you will take the reins of our most critical programs, diving into the strategy and operations of bringing HUE forward into the AI era. Rather than maintaining a steady-state operation, you will actively build, shape, and scale the HUE AIT (AI Transformation) portfolio from its foundational outset.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $176000 - $256000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

  • Define, own, and drive the strategy and operations to accelerate HUE's transition into the AI-native era.
  • Orchestrate a repeatable, hybrid human-AI intelligence pipeline to scan the external 3P product development landscape (e.g., Figma, Miro, Pencil.dev, Flowith, and other emerging contenders).
  • Act as the strategic owner for the entire HUE AIT Portfolio program list, ensuring high-priority initiatives are managed from inception to completion.
  • Design and implement scalable frameworks, metrics, and OKRs that transform grassroots energy into measurable institutional IP.
  • Create the processes to influence and advance HUE’s 1P/3P tooling strategy including how we benchmark, pilot, and scale 3P tools and influence the development of 1P tools.
