Join the Team That's Shaping the Future of Online Car Auctions
Cars & Bids is the fastest-growing online auction platform for modern enthusiast cars. Since launching in 2020, we've hosted over 35,000 auctions, sold nearly $1 billion in vehicles, and built a loyal community of buyers and sellers. We're not just a marketplace - we're a passionate, fast-moving team redefining how people buy and sell cars online.
We're now hiring a Senior Listing Editor & Editorial Lead to ensure the accuracy and quality of every vehicle listing published on Cars & Bids.
This is a player-coach role. The majority of your time will be spent directly editing listings - reviewing vehicle descriptions, verifying details, cross-checking photos, and ensuring every auction meets Cars & Bids' standards for accuracy and clarity. You will also oversee a small team responsible for editing support.
You will be ultimately responsible for the accuracy and consistency of all listings on the platform. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong automotive knowledge, and the ability to identify issues not only in written content but also in vehicle photos and supporting documentation.
Approximately 75% of your time will be spent editing listings, with the remainder focused on driving forward the development of our style and standards, as well as directly managing, training, and supporting a small team of editors
If you are obsessive about details, passionate about enthusiast cars, and enjoy both hands-on work and leading others, this role is an opportunity to directly shape the quality and credibility of the Cars & Bids marketplace.
What You'll Do
Primary Responsibility: Listing Accuracy & Editing
  • Review and edit vehicle listings before publication to ensure accuracy, clarity, and completeness
  • Identify errors or inconsistencies in listing descriptions, specifications, and seller-provided information
  • Cross-check listing details against photos, VIN decoders, documentation, and other available sources
  • Carefully review listing photo galleries to identify inconsistencies, missing details, or issues that require clarification
  • Ensure listings meet Cars & Bids editorial standards and maintain a consistent voice and format
  • Flag potential issues to Auction Managers before auctions go live

Team Leadership (Player-Coach Responsibilities)
  • Manage and support a small team of contract editors
  • Partner with our Editorial Manager and leadership team to support the development and maintenance of our listing style and standards
  • Review work produced by the editing team and provide feedback to maintain high standards
  • Coordinate workloads and coverage to ensure listings are edited quickly and accurately
  • Train and mentor editors on Cars & Bids editing standards and processes

Process & Quality Improvement
  • Own quality of our listings, ensure little to no errors make it live
  • Maintain rigorous KPIs to ensure speed and quality of the process
  • Continuously improve editing workflows and quality control processes
  • Help refine editorial guidelines and internal quality standards
  • Work with product and operations teams to improve internal tools that support the listing process
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology or automation to improve editing efficiency while maintaining accuracy

What We're Looking For
  • Deep passion for enthusiast cars and automotive culture
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with a focus on ensuring our auction listings are compelling and accurate
  • Proven experience in proofreading, copy editing, technical editing, or quality control of written content
  • Strong ability to identify errors or inconsistencies in both text and images
  • Ability to independently verify vehicle information and specifications
  • Experience managing or mentoring small teams preferred
  • Strong organizational habits and ability to manage a high daily workload
  • Comfort working in fast-paced environments where multiple listings move through the pipeline daily
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial; someone who can think through and effectuate improvements in our process through use of AI
