Overview

LMI is seeking a Database DevOps Engineer to be part of a team that is designing and developing complex, cloud-based systems. This position requires an Active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing cloud-based database systems. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud database technologies, performance tuning, and data security. The ideal candidate will have experience in various cloud platforms and database management systems, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of the databases. Design, implement, and manage cloud-based database systems (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL). This team member will:

    Monitor database performance and optimize queries for efficiency.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
  • Perform regular backups, restore operations, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support application deployment and database integration.
  • Automate routine database tasks using scripting and automation tools.
  • Maintain documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in cloud databases.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 3-10 years of experience in database administration, with a focus on cloud environments
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB)
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization
  • Familiarity with database security best practices and compliance standards
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash)
  • Understanding of networking concepts and protocols
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Security+ or equivalent certification

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Database - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer
  • Experience with database migration and replication tools
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

Target salary range: $77,000 - $125,000
