The Impact you will have in this role:
As an Associate Director of Database Engineering for Snowflake, you will lead with strategic vision to strengthen our data foundation, enhance performance, and drive innovation across the enterprise. By aligning technology initiatives with business objectives you will enable scale, secure high-impact data solutions that accelerate decision making, empower teams, and advance our data strategy with Snowflake in the data cloud ecosystem.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
  • Integrate Snowflake with IAM (Azure AD, Hashicorp Vault)
  • Integrate Snowflake monitoring to observability tools (Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace)
  • Work with Linux batch scheduling (Autosys or equivalent)
  • Apply FinOps concepts for cost/performance optimization
  • Administer Snowpark containers, Snowpipe streaming, and Cortex AI services
  • Package new Snowflake features for enterprise use
  • Validate non-functional requirements (DR, backup)
  • Collaborate with app teams for seamless integration
  • Use CI/CD tools (GitLab, Bitbucket, Jenkins)
  • Perform Snowflake & AWS admin via Terraform/Ansible
  • Provide escalated support and consulting
  • Develop documentation, training, and job aids
  • Support DR and operational rotation activities
  • Report defects and coordinate fixes with Snowflake

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

Talents Needed for Success:
  • Snowflake admin expertise; SnowPro Core certification preferred
  • SQL programming & RDBMS experience (Snowflake, Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Proficiency in Python & Bash on Linux
  • Basic Terraform/Ansible skills
  • CI/CD experience (GitLab, Bitbucket, Jenkins)
  • Basic AWS IaaS skills (Azure/Google Cloud Platform acceptable)
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum & JIRA
  • Knowledge of ITSM processes & ServiceNow
