Job Title: Collaboration Platform Administrator

Organization: IT Shared Services (ITSS) – Collaboration Platforms

Experience Level: Mid–Senior (5+ Years)

Location : Austin, TX

Shift / On-Call: Weekday follow-the-sun operational rotation

Role Overview

Administer and scale enterprise-grade messaging and collaboration platforms for a global enterprise environment (20,000+ seats). This role is responsible for daily platform operations, complex mail flow and deliverability troubleshooting, identity-driven SaaS integrations, email security policy enforcement, operational scripting/automation, and the administration of enterprise AI collaboration tools.

Core Responsibilities

  • Messaging & Collaboration Administration: Manage day-to-day configuration, policies, and health for Exchange Online, Microsoft 365, Slack Enterprise Grid, Google Workspace, and supporting SaaS platforms (Zoom, Monday.com, Figma, Smartsheet, Lucid).
  • Mail Flow & Deliverability: Manage end-to-end SMTP mail routing, connectors, transport rules, shared mailboxes, and enterprise email authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
  • Email Hygiene & Security: Configure and monitor email gateway policies (Cisco Cloud Email Security/IronPort, Defender, Proofpoint), analyze message traces, and investigate phishing, spoofing, and deliverability escalations.
  • Integrations & Identity Management: Configure SSO, SAML, SCIM provisioning, and OAuth across the SaaS collaboration ecosystem. Implement integrations and automate administrative workloads using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, Google Apps Script, and REST APIs.
  • AI & Advanced Enablement: Support enterprise AI rollout, AI assistants, workflow automations, MCP servers, and third-party AI governance on collaboration suites.
  • Operations & Reporting: Monitor service health and message logs using log analysis tools (e.g., Splunk), maintain runbooks/SOPs, and participate in weekday global follow-the-sun handoffs.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years administering messaging and collaboration ecosystems in large-scale environments.
  • Core Platforms: Proven hands-on administration of Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online, Google Workspace, and Slack Enterprise Grid.
  • Email Security & Deliverability: In-depth knowledge of SMTP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, message trace diagnostics, and email gateway solutions (Cisco CES, Proofpoint, Defender, Mimecast).
  • Automation & Scripting: Practical proficiency with PowerShell (Exchange Online / M365 modules), Microsoft Graph, Google Apps Script, or REST APIs.
  • Identity & SaaS: Hands-on experience with SAML SSO, SCIM provisioning, and OAuth-based SaaS app administration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing multi-tenant or massive user environments (20,000+ seats).
  • Experience with AI governance, AI agents, MCP integrations, and enterprise bot workflows.
  • Familiarity with log analysis and alerting in Splunk or similar SIEM/observability tools.
