Role: Paid Search Specialist - SEM - Google Ads - Automotive

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: In-Office in our Ohio City/Cleveland Location 5 Days Per Week

About The Role
As a Paid Search Specialist at Make & Model Marketing, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of paid advertising campaigns across Google Ads, Meta (Facebook & Instagram), and Microsoft Ads. Your focus will be on driving high-quality traffic and measurable results for our automotive dealership clients through a variety of campaign types, including Search, Display, YouTube, Performance Max, and Vehicle Listing Ads as well as Paid Social Ads.

This role is a balance of execution and strategy. You’ll work within our proven internal processes while also taking initiative to drive performance, optimize campaigns, and meet both client expectations and internal KPIs. You’ll collaborate closely with account managers to understand client goals and build data-driven strategies that support them. You’ll also work with internal teams to gather creative assets and ensure campaigns meet all compliance, brand, and co-op guidelines.

You’ll be responsible for managing monthly budgets that range from hundreds to thousands of dollars, ensuring campaigns stay on track and perform efficiently. Your ability to make smart, strategic recommendations is key — as is your dedication to staying current with platform changes, new campaign types, and paid media best practices.
Requirements:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience managing paid search campaigns across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and Meta (Facebook/Instagram)
  • Deep working knowledge of paid search platforms, including campaign types, bidding strategies, audience targeting, and performance optimization
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience analyzing paid media performance using Google Analytics and other reporting platforms
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Drive) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Strong understanding of paid search KPIs (CTR, CPC, conversion rate, ROAS, etc.) and how to translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple accounts and campaigns simultaneously
  • Experience in a client-facing role is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to communicate clearly with team members and collaborate in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of paid media campaigns across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, YouTube, and Meta (Facebook/Instagram)
  • Develop and execute paid media strategies that align with client goals and deliver measurable results
  • Monitor campaign performance and analyze key metrics to evaluate effectiveness and identify optimization opportunities
  • Provide ongoing recommendations for budget allocation, bidding strategies, and campaign enhancements
  • Stay current with platform updates, industry trends, and best practices through continual learning
  • Collaborate with internal teams to manage the workflow of creative assets and ensure campaigns meet brand, compliance, and co-op guidelines
  • Effectively manage multiple client accounts simultaneously, meeting timelines and maintaining attention to detail across all projects

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has a working knowledge of key paid search metrics and how to evaluate campaign performance
  • Is eager to learn quickly, ask thoughtful questions, and grow in a fast-paced industry
  • Has a strong interest in the automotive industry and a desire to understand all facets of digital marketing
  • Brings new ideas to the table and takes initiative to test and execute them
  • Is organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks across multiple clients
  • Works well with account managers and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution
  • Enjoys collaborating with others and contributing to a team culture
  • Is passionate about digital marketing and excited to stay up to date with evolving platforms, tools, and campaign types
  • Possesses strong project management skills and the ability to track multiple moving pieces

The First 90 Days

  • You’ll be fully supported as you ramp up, with a strong focus on learning, collaboration, and building confidence in your role.
  • Complete an introduction  to client accounts, starting with shadowing and support roles alongside current team members. Over time, you’ll take ownership of your own set of accounts with a clear understanding of expectations.
  • Work closely with our paid search specialists and account managers to understand client goals, strategies, and how we communicate and collaborate internally.
  • Learn what quality land standards looks like at Make & Model — from campaign setup to reporting — and how we maintain those standards consistently across our clients and teams.
  • Become familiar with the platforms and tools we use for paid media management, reporting, project coordination, and internal organization.

By the end of your first 90 days, you’ll have a strong understanding of our approach and the tools at your disposal — and feel ready to independently manage your own client accounts with confidence.
