Job description

Title: Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Department: Room 3 Department

Reports to: Room 3 Manager

Salary: $70,304.00-75,000.00

SUMMARY:
The production supervisor will direct and coordinate activities concerned with the production of the company products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate crew leaders.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
  • Influence and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create machining schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
  • Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations based on production schedules and requisitions materials from storage areas.
  • Plans flow of materials through department and develops physical layout of machines according to work orders.
  • Interfaces with others in the company to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Inspect and measure parts and products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and the quality of the product.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the shop, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Maintains time and production needs.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance and the Quality Systems Auditors to ensure effective execution of all maintenance-related sanitation and food safety programs and their documentation.
  • Perform other reasonable job-related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Must have a high level of problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively as a team player, with the ability to interact across departmental boundaries, minimizing conflict and maximizing goodwill across all company departments.
  • Must adhere to all HACCP and Food Safety policies, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Must comply with all policies regarding Employee Safety and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Any additional tasks assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Job experience: a minimum of 5 years of management experience or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Ability to develop procedures, job descriptions, and other necessary documents and keep them current.
  • Be familiar with food-related requirements such as GMP's, HACCP, SSOP's, OSHA, and USDA.
  • Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as needed.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and have a general competency in computer operation.

Working Conditions and Physical Aspects:

  • Stand and walk for a long period of time.
  • Work (bend down) under/around equipment.
  • Ability to use a ladder to reach high areas.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use all four senses-sight, hearing, touch, and smell.
  • Work at a refrigerated room temperature.
  • Work in a wet environment.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment at all times.
