Job Summary
This position is responsible for the entire P&L of the respective District, including all branch and warehouse locations. Manage and direct all business functions of the District, including sales and operations teams comprised of outside and inside salespeople and logistics associates. Responsibilities encompass overall strategy, direction, and execution for the District in alignment with Regional Leadership. This role reports to a VP of Sales & Operations for Irby Utilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Regularly travel with Sales staff to customer locations to maintain company relationships and evaluate Sales Rep performance.
  • Promote organization in industry, manufacturing, or trade associations.
  • Interact regularly with customers to drive customer service and achieve sales goals through addressing, mediating, and resolving customer concerns, complaints, and issues.
  • Collaborate and partner with all corporate teams to drive immediate and long-term Utility business strategy & results.
  • Direct and coordinate promotion of products sold or services performed to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry.
  • Confer with direct line and company leaders to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals, objectives, programs, and operations.
  • Manage sales performance, business plans, customer service levels proactivity with sales team and branch management
  • Direct, coordinate, and/or delegate activities of sales and technical resources in order to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the competition.
  • Create and monitor sales goals by account in Sales Management tool.
  • Ensure sales and branch teams are informed of and properly utilizing all company tools (Reporting, Web, Digital, etc.).
  • Build upon and strengthen relationships with vendors.
  • Negotiate local/district pricing and resolve issues with vendors in conjunction with company purchasing team. Additionally ensure pricing is provided to the BM for loading and maintenance in Eclipse
  • Interview and hire Outside Sales, Outside Specialists, and Branch Managers.
  • Responsible for initial and ongoing training and qualifications of directly reporting and subordinate positions.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports and provide performance management oversight and guidance throughout the district.
  • Focus on long-term growth, people development and building a succession pipeline.
  • Practice good interpersonal relations, using tact, courtesy, a positive attitude toward customers and co-workers, pleasant telephone etiquette, as a representative of goodwill on behalf of the company at work or during company travel.
  • Ensure district branches are maintaining adequate inventory for customer service while meeting company working capital goals and inventory metrics.
  • Assist with branch budgets and forecasts.
  • Develop business plans for branches.
  • Oversee all branch and warehouse sales & operations within District.
  • Review analysis of activities, costs, budgets and forecast data to determine progress toward stated sales goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate financial results for segment/branches that will lead to positive impact to the long-term growth and profitability of the company, as well as financial results, customer relationships, and associate relations.
  • Ensure adherence of branches with Sonepar/Irby Compliance programs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 7+ years Previous Sales and/or Operations Leadership experience.
  • Leader with successful track record of talent acquisition.
