The Wooden Horse is the Bay Area’s award-winning specialty toy store, serving generations of local families in the community since 1971. Our mission is to provide quality toys that foster development, growth, and curiosity for children and adults of all ages! We strive to create a unique, classic, heartfelt shopping experience, with unsurpassed customer service.

We are seeking an experienced full-time or part-time Assistant retail and online store manager to join our team! This is a dynamic, hands-on role where you will be responsible for assisting the store manager with a wide range of activities including managing store floor staff, merchandising, and managing the online store.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage floor sales staff and personnel schedules
  • Merchandising, stocking, and floor operations
  • Manage customers and resolve customer issues
  • Create and coordinate marketing advertising, store and community events
  • Manage website, online store, and social media platforms
  • Assist customers, wrap, and provide full cycle sales service

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in retail and customer service tailored to children, families, community
  • Proficient in MS office tools (word, excel)
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment
  • Background or interest in web tools and on-line sales and e-commerce
  • Excellent communication skills
