E-Books Shipping Clerk

Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania and North Central West Virginia is a nonprofit organization that funds job training, education, and other community programs by selling donated clothing and household items in Goodwill stores and online. The E-Books Shipping Clerk will be responsible for the fulfillment of orders by properly assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material. The shipping clerk is expected to maintain an excellent customer service rating to ensure approval and continued relationships with all seller sites. Daily tasks may change, so flexibility and adaptability to the changing needs of the department is key.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy
  • Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or record keeping purposes
  • Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepared materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter
  • Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials
  • Confer or correspond with other team members or customers to rectify problems, such as damages or nonconformance to specifications

Status: Regular, Part-time, Non-exempt

Schedule: Monday and Tuesdays, 7 AM - 3:30 PM.

External Hiring Range: $15.00/hour

Travel required: No

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with data entry or computerized shipping software preferred.

Required Clearances, Licenses, and Certifications:

  • Candidates are expected to submit to national criminal background check search prior to first day of employment.
