Working Hours: Day with rotational call
Summary:
The Circulating Nurse is a Registered Nurse responsible for planning, organizing, and administering care within the scope of his/her training and expertise, collaborating with other disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes is met. This is done in conjunction with the objectives and policies of the hospital and the Nurse Practice Act of the state of Arkansas.
The Circulating Nurse assists surgeons and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures. They work outside the operating room's sterile field by ensuring a clean and sterile environment, administration of medications, implementing and maintaining surgical counts, prepping for operations/procedures, documentation of surgery/procedure, monitoring perioperative staff, instruments, and equipment and the delivery of surgical specimens.
Other information:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  1. A new RN graduate from an accredited nursing program or Registered Nurse with an unencumbered license in good standing to practice in the state of Arkansas. BSN preferred.
  2. Healthcare CPR required, some areas may require ACLS, PALS and/or NALS - training is provided.
  3. Specialty units require and will provide specific specialty education.
  4. Applies basic knowledge and skills to meet standard of care.
  5. Is able to practice as a full partner of an interdisciplinary team.

This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
