Title: Assistant DFAC Manager
Reports To: DFAC Manager
Under the supervision of the DFAC Manager and Area Manager, the Assistant DFAC Manager is responsible for assisting in overseeing the daily operations of the DFAC.
EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum two years working as a manager or assistant manager with a major culinary institution, a large institutional food service operation or the military.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and competency in managing food services, labor, budget, and other resources.

SKILLS:

  • Good management and customer service skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret government contracts and make appropriate application.
  • Communicate with employees, customers, and vendors in the running of the facility.
  • Assist in determining the necessary staffing levels required to smoothly run the facility.
  • Must be able to monitor staff, walk the facility and inspect foods, employees, and general set-up.

EDUCATION:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business management, hospitality management, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must be ServSafe certified. Must have solid work ethics.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide management oversight of the dining facility.
  • Ensure contract compliance and performance.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate cooperation and support between dining facilities, if applicable, including cross-utilization of labor resources.
  • Ensure compliance with the Building/Equipment Cleaning Plans.
  • Physically inspects all dining facilities on a scheduled basis, in coordination with the DFAC Manager and QCM inspection schedules.
  • Establish and maintain a close working relationship with customers, supervisors and employees.
  • Maintain budget controls for inventory, supplies, equipment ordering, and labor cost.
  • Ensure work schedules is in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Contribute input for the food ordering process
  • Assist in training to all employees.
  • Provide mid-year and annual performance reviews.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the RHFS rules and regulations set forth in the employee handbook.
  • Comply with all HACCP standards.

Minimum Hiring Standards:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age at time of pre-employment screening
  • Must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process; including drug screen and background investigation and meet Company standards.
  • Must posses a Valid Drivers license and pass Company Standard for MVR check

  • The person in this position needs to frequently move within the facility.
  • Operates computer and other office productivity machinery such as calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and printer.

  • Bending, squatting, and reaching.
