Job description

Job Description: The Assistant Golf Professional is an essential member of the team responsible for assisting in the efficient management and operation of the golf course and the promotion of interest in the sport and use of the golf course, including providing professional instruction to golfers. The ideal candidate is either a PGA member or Apprentice with 1-3 years of experience. Job Responsibilities: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Assists in management and operation of the golf course in general and assists the General Manager or Head Golf Professional in assuring the course and facilities are ready for use on a day-to-day basis.
• Assists the General Manager or Head Golf Professional with the purchasing of merchandise for the Pro Shop (especially special-order merchandise) and purchasing of materials and equipment for the golf course.
• Keeps display areas stocked and clean in the golf pro shop and sells merchandise and conducts daily business sales and accounting for cash at registers in the pro shop and concession stand.
• Opens and closes pro shop and club house daily.
• Assists and supervises subordinates in maintaining the club house; supervises driving range and cart staging operations and staff.
• Utilizing the point of sales and computerized tee sheet system, schedules and controls tee times and starting players, including taking tee times and preparing tee sheets.
• Assists in conducting and supervising special tournaments, youth programs and other programs designed to increase the public interest and participation in golf.
• Assists in conducting group and individual golf lessons and clinics.
• Assists in directing all play on the golf course and instructs guests in course rules.
• Responsible for accounting for collection of green, locker and other fees, including making bank deposits and getting change.
• Promotes the sale of athletic goods and services.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge Skills and Abilities - CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid driver’s license.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Microsoft Office Suite; Timeclock Software; Point of Sale Software; HR Onboarding Software; Tee Time Software and Tournament Set-up Software.
SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT:
This position will use the following equipment while fulfilling these duties.
Motorized vehicles, including but not limited to golf carts, utility carts, shuttle carts and beverage carts
Power washer, ball washer, and leaf blower
Clothes washer and clothes dryer

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
