We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for our full-time position for a RARE and exciting opportunity to join our group at Our Lady of the Lakes Ascension in Gonzales, LA, Ascension Emergency Physicians (AEP). Considering both full-time and part-time candidates to work up to 15 shifts per month.

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

The 18 bed emergency department includes specialized treatment areas for critical care, mental health and fast track non-critical care to improve the care process and reduce waiting times. Our Lady of the Lake Ascension Emergency Department has has 24/7/365 coverage of board certified emergency physicians

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT STATISTICS:

  • Approximately 38,000 visits annually
  • 10 to 12-hour shifts
  • 7 bed ICU department overseen by OLOL physicians
  • Excellent specialty backup and advanced practitioner support
  • EPIC is the EMR
  • Supportive nursing and administrative staff

PHYSICIAN REQUIREMENTS:

  • BE/BC in Emergency Medicine
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS
  • Current unrestricted Louisiana state medical license and DEA

Our Lady of the Lake Ascension, formally know as St. Elizabeth Hospital is a 78-bed, faith-based, not-for-profit community hospital located in Gonzales, Louisiana.  It serves Ascension Parish, Louisiana's fastest growing area in the state, and parts of the surrounding parishes of Iberville, St. James, and Livingston. The hospital provides inpatient, outpatient, and surgical services with the support of over 300 affiliated physicians and over 500 team members. 

The hospital's physician group, St. Elizabeth Physicians, is a wholly-owned subsidiary with 11 locations through Ascension Parish, over 70 primary care, specialists, and advanced practitioners. St. Elizabeth Hospital was purchased in 2000 by Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, the largest private medical center in Louisiana. In December, 2004, St. Elizabeth Hospital became the fourth hospital in the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System.
