A Day on the Job Summary:

Golf Services Professional at the Country Club of Detroit play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for our Members and guests. Golf Services Professionals are responsible for providing exceptional service while maintaining the pristine condition of our golf facilities. Golf Services Professionals are dedicated individuals with a passion for golf and a commitment to delivering excellence in customer service.


Essential Job Duties:

Bag Handling 

  • Greet Members and guests upon arrival
  • Assist with unloading/loading golf bags
  • Ensure bags are properly stored and organized

Cart Management

  • Manage the fleet of golf carts, including cleaning, charging, and arranging for maintenance as needed. 
  • Ensure carts are available and always prepared for use

Driving Range Maintenance

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the driving range, including:
  • Picking up golf balls
  • Replenishing supplies
  • Ensuring safety protocols are followed

Customer Service

  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing Member and guest inquiries
  • Assisting with tee time reservations
  • Offering assistance, as needed, on the course

Safety Compliance

  • Adhere to all safety and compliance standards, including:
  • Golf cart operation
  • Driving range protocols
  • General course safety
Requirements:

Minimum Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience within the hospitality or golf industry, preferred
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
  • Knowledge of golf etiquette, rules, and terminology is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong emphasis on teamwork
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to lift and maneuver golf bags and equipment
  • Valid driver's license required

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent walking throughout premises
  • Standing for prolonged periods of time
  • Bending, Stooping and lifting regularly
  • Working outside in varying degrees of temperatures/weather
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, on occasion
