Job description

Westin Tennis Center in Weston, FL is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a seasonal part-time Front Desk Attendant for our morning shift! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of racquet sports club operations. As an associate of Troon/Cliff Drysdale & Peter Burwash International Tennis, you will contribute to a global leader in racquet sports, golf and community management.
Weston Tennis Center is a spacious, 16-court facility that includes 15 hydro-clay courts and one championship hard court. The Club is equipped with men's and women's showers, lockers, covered patio area for pre- and post-match relaxation and fully stocked pro shop offering a variety of racquets, shoes and clothing for sale.
General Purpose:
Offers superior customer service while selling merchandise and assisting management in merchandising, inventory control, reservations, and special events preparation.
Schedule:
Mornings from 6:50am-1pm.
Essential Duties:
  • Performs opening and closing procedures for the shop or store as determined by management.
  • Responsible for accountability of POS transactions made.
  • Collects applicable fees from members/guests and outside patrons as they arrive.
  • Makes court, clinic, lesson and special event reservations, in person or by phone.
  • Assists guests by selling merchandise and providing information in a professional manner.
  • Assists with rotating stock and keeping displays clean and orderly.
  • Assists with general cleaning of the shop or store.
  • Assist shop supervisor with creating appealing displays.
  • Assists with monthly physical inventories.
  • May work with coaches to facilitate orderly start and play times.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required/needed.
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequently stands and uses hands; reaches with hands and arms, talks or hears.
  • Regularly walks, sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches.
  • Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
  • Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses:
  • None Required
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
  • Active tennis player with knowledge of the game.
  • Retail sales experience is preferred.
  • Computer proficiency including but not limited POS, Microsoft Office applications, social media and other programs related to tennis such as tennisdirector.com or Club Automation.
